RN/LPN Part-time 2 days/week
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The RN/LPN focuses on the chronic and ongoing health and safety needs of the participants. The RN/LPN is required to build and maintain positive working relationships with personnel, supported people, families, and community members. The nurse will display respect to others through positive interactions, timely follow up, and professional communication.
REPORTS TO: Executive Director
Starting Salary: $30 - $32 per hour, depending on education/experience; Plus the following benefits for those who qualify: 401(k) Retirement Plan, optional Dental and Vision Insurance.
HOURS: 9:00am - 5:00pm, Thursday/Friday. Must be available for weekend on-call schedule
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two years of nursing experience.
- Current RN/LPN licensure valid in South Dakota.
- Management experience is preferred. Knowledge of management principles and practices.
- Ability to complete all ARSD training requirements within the required period of time.
- Ability to be responsible for 24-hour on-call coverage and respond to issues as necessary.
- Excellent problem solving, decision-making and organizational skills required.
- Ability to read, write and speak English language adequately to respond to individual’s needs.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; listen accurately and responsively.
- Responds to communication in a timely manner and reviews email and Therap daily.
- Ability to see and hear to make assessments.
- The ability to lift 60 pounds, occasionally, which includes lifting objects and/or transferring people. Ability to sit, stand, stoop, bend, reach and push/pull wheelchairs.
- Ability to respond to emergencies in accordance with procedures and guidelines.
- Able to use a computer for required documentation, communication, scheduling and assessments. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to operate and maintain household, office and facility equipment.
- Valid Driver’s license and safe driving record. Ability to travel between multiple sites.
- Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check that meets Valiant Living, Inc. policy.
