Assistant Director of Admissions

Dakota State University is seeking applications for an Assistant Director of Admissions. This position will supervise and coach Admissions Specialists to reach outlined recruitment goals set by the University. As a leader within the Admissions department, the successful candidate will stay current on best practices specific to recruitment of undergraduate and transfer students.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, preparation, presentation, and management of Discover DSU Days, Program Preview Days, and New Student Registration Days.
  • Provide training and development to admissions specialists to provide the best experience to prospective students and families.
  • Meet with prospective students at high school visits and college fairs.
  • Coordinate and schedule high school visits, register for college fairs, and assign an admissions specialist to represent DSU at the event.
  • Generate and review reports to identify enrollment patterns and make decisions as to student interest priority.
  • Understand and implement a comprehensive communication plan for the Admissions department.
  • Study best practices and seek out innovative recruitment and student success actions.
  • Assist in the development of department policy, procedure, and workflow.
  • Lead and assist with one or more of the following Admissions areas: Trojan Ambassador, Transfer Shopper Evaluations, Social Media Management , Dual Credit Management, or ACT Prep Courses.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in higher education is preferred.
  • Previous experience supervising a team of employees.
  • Ability to travel as required by the position.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
