HR & Safety Support Specialist
Join our team at East River Electric Power Cooperative! Are you an organized and detail-oriented individual looking to provide administrative support within a positive work environment? We are seeking an HR & Safety Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be crucial in supporting our human resources team and safety program. Some of your responsibilities will include maintaining HR records, assisting with the apprenticeship training program, and coordinating employee training events. The perfect candidate will have outstanding interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
At East River Electric Power Cooperative we're dedicated to providing reliable and affordable wholesale power to our members across 40,000 square miles of service area. As a not-for-profit generation and transmission cooperative, we provide electricity to 24 rural electric distribution cooperatives and one municipally-owned electric system serving eastern South Dakota and western Minnesota. Our members, in turn, power the lives of the member-owners in their service territories.

What You'll Accomplish

- Maintain and update HR records and systems with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Support recruitment efforts by scheduling interviews, coordinating background checks, and communicating with candidates.
- Create professional documents and presentations.
- Assist with scheduling, organizing, and tracking various employee safety training activities.
- Manage the apprenticeship training program and all associated records.
- Help manage safety software programs and databases.
- Collaborate with the administrative team to provide external and internal customer service and backup the reception area as needed.
- Prioritize tasks, taking proactive approaches and ensuring successful project completion.
Showcase Your Knowledge, Abilities, and Expertise. Do you have?
- A degree in business or a related field, along with a minimum of two years of administrative support experience, preferably in Human Resources
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
- Outstanding communication and customer service skills
- Ability to effectively prioritize and manage a variety of tasks at once
- High proficiency in using Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, and Outlook
- Valid driver's license
