Administrative Assistant I

Dakota State University is seeking applications for an Administrative Assistant I in the College of Business and Information Systems. The position will manage the day-to-day operations of the college office and support the Dean and faculty within the College of Business and Information Systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Assign advisors to each student within the College of Business and Information Systems.
  • Assist students with course registration issues and provide general advising guidance.
  • Manage and schedule Business and Information Systems exit exams.
  • Coordinate and process reimbursement paperwork for faculty and clubs.
  • Generate and send correspondence to students, faculty, and staff across campus.
  • Work with the Admissions department to coordinate faculty to meet with prospective students individually or during Program Preview and Discover Days.
  • Schedule meetings for the Dean and faculty.
  • Manage room reservations for East Hall.
  • Purchase materials, supplies, equipment, and process travel reimbursements for faculty and Dean.
  • Reconcile monthly budget.
  • Assist with coordination of various camps including Scrubs Camp, Junior Achievement, Data Analytics Completions, etc.
  • Supervise student employees.

  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple interruptions.
  • Ability to work with students, faculty, staff, and the public courteously.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
