America's 250th Celebration

Join us as we commemorate the 250th Anniversary of the United States with a special community celebration at Library Park in Madison, South Dakota on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.

The program begins at 4:30 PM with the Ringing of the Bells, followed by a Flag Procession led by the American Legion and VFW, a community welcome, patriotic songs performed by the Master Singers, a Reading of the Declaration of Independence by Skip Martin, and closing remarks from Mayor Roy Lindsay.

After the ceremony, stay and enjoy yard games, connect with neighbors, and celebrate this historic milestone together. Be sure to bring a lawn chair—picnic tables will also be available. In the event of rain, the program will move to the Madison Public Library.

Let's come together to honor our nation's past, celebrate our shared history, and look ahead to the future as we mark America's 250th Birthday.
