Interlakes Senior Center Weekly Movie at the SCC
This week’s movie is The Cider House Rules. The Cider House Rules (1999) is a drama about Homer Wells (Tobey Maguire), an orphan raised by Dr. Wilbur Larch (Michael Caine) in a Maine orphanage. Trained as a doctor, Homer leaves to discover life beyond the orphanage, finding love and facing moral choices while working at an apple orchard. The film explores themes of morality, freedom, and belonging, and won Oscars for Best Supporting Actor (Michael Caine) and Best Adapted Screenplay.
