Administrative Assistant (Career and Professional Development)

Dakota State University is seeking applications for a full-time Administrative Assistant in the Career and Professional Development Office.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordination of Career and Professional Development events including: information sessions, workshops, practice sessions, and campus interviews.
  • Instructing students and staff on the use of the Handshake software.
  • Purchasing supplies and providing budget updates to the Director.
  • Posting announcements and information on the department social media accounts.
  • Proofreading and providing feedback on student resumes.
  • Supervising a team of student employees.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of multiple computer applications including MS Word, MS Excel, and Outlook is required.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently.
  • Ability to gather, interpret, report, and use information.
  • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with students, staff, and the public.
