Accounting Specialist
Dakota State University is seeking applications for a full-time Accounting Specialist within our Business Office. The individual hired must be able to audit and approve expenditures, and perform other accounting duties. The qualified individual must be able interpret DSU and State of SD policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Review and approve travel reimbursements submitted by various departments on campus.
- Review and approve candidate travel reimbursement and household moving allowances submitted by the Human Resources department.
- Provide training to users across campus on Banner processes, DocuSign, Contracts+, and PaymentWorks, etc.
- Process direct pays and make purchases for the Business Office and other departments on campus as needed.
- Monitor, review, and track contracts entered in the Contracts+ system.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Methods and practices of financial record keeping.
- Knowledge of book keeping practices and procedures.
- Ability to train and provide guidance to staff and software users.
- Knowledge and skill to use Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Superior customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
